Would you like to attend a NFL Officiating Academy? Bob Lord, NFL Regional Officiating Scout and Director of the NFL Officiating Academy (FOA), has announced that the NFL will be running a one day Football Officiating Academy (FAO) at Framingham State University on August 22, 2015 to promote officiating as a grass roots initiative. The goal of FOA is to broaden the talent pool by introducing officiating to people across the country who are interested in becoming an official. The academy will teach officiating mechanics and football fundamentals, along with professional and personal skills that last a life time. This program is designed for the novice official or one that may have a couple of years of experience. The Academy is FREE and open to men and women. We will have a morning classroom session covering rules and fundamentals. The afternoon session will be with the Framingham State Team for on the field experience. The afternoon session will give the candidate a good look at the speed of the game and a feel for positioning.
All candidates can apply to the FOA on line: http://operations.nfl.com/the-officials/officiating-development/
Additional information is available on the site as well. If you are interested and/or have more questions, please call Bob Lord at 774-513-0020 or email him boblord2@verizon.net.
