The MIAA Final Four and State Championship Games in each of the eight divisions will include seven-person officiating crews. In preparation for the increase in officials on each crew, the ANEFO would like to provide you with some resources.
When we shift from a five-person crew to a seven-person crew, a “field judge” and a “side judge” position are added. The roles and responsibilities of the FJ and SJ may be new to you and/or you may appreciate a refresher on their role and responsibilities. Therefore, Tom Brow, Rules Interpreter, has created a video on the mechanics of these two positions in a seven-person crew.

Once you start the video presentation, there will appear a [-] symbol in the bottom right corner. It is important that you select the [-] symbol to see the video in full screen. If time is a factor, you can change the speed of the video by selecting 1X – 2X times and cut the viewing time in half.
Two additional resources for Seven-Person Mechanics can be found online. First go to : www.anefo.org then select the “RULES” tab and then scroll down and select the “RESOURCES” tab, then scroll down to the following:
1) Jack Walsh’s 7-Person Crew Pre-game

Congratulations and good luck to all the student-athletes, coaches, parents, and officials!
