John Mattuchio, President; Skip Likins, First Vice President; Al Bartolini, Middlesex Governor; and Tommy Brow, Rules Interpreter, were the featured guest speakers at the ANEFO meeting on June 26, 2017. Their handouts, summary of their presentations, and/or resources are located at the bottom of this article.
First, John Mattuchio’s presentation included the following: an introduction of the members of the ANEFO Executive Board, the importance of keeping members’s profiles up-to-date, the criteria for being an ANEFO member in good standing, a welcome to the new members, background checks, concussion course requirement, a new mentoring program, and other general information. Next, Skip Likins shared information about the upcoming candidates’ class, and Al Bartolini discussed a proposed link to be added to the website that would highlight ANEFO members who advanced to Division I college assignments. Finally, Tommy Brow discussed the following: a review the three new football rules having to due with knee pads, leaping, and horse collar tackles, an audio clip of Roger Redding highlighting his take on the three new rules, and the importance of reviewing the fourteen new rules from the previous season.
