Bob Prestera, Secretary-Treasurer, presided at the second ANEFO meeting of the 2022 Football Season on Monday, August 29, 2022 before a packed house of officials at the Irish-American Club in Malden. Bob greeted the members and discussed various updates about the upcoming football season. Bob also reminded each member about their requirement to register with the MIAA and take the annual online concussion test.
Tom Brow, Rules Interpreter, was the guest speaker. Tom presented a visual presentation that included the new NFHS rules for the 2022 season including: the team box restrictions, which official may order a new game ball, when a team may switch their game ball, an additional uniform number permitted, chop blocks, game clock options under 2:00 minutes in each half, play clock exceptions, illegal forward pass exceptions and the new MIAA on-field medical personnel requirement for each team; the new medical personnel rule drew a robust discussion. At the end of the meeting, there was an opportunity for ANEFO members to ask some excellent questions. During his closing remarks, Secretary-Treasurer Prestera reminded everyone of the upcoming “Wednesday” meeting and wished everyone good luck during the upcoming season.
