Al Bartolini, First Vice-President, conducted the fifth virtual ANEFO meeting of the Fall II Football Season on Monday, March 30, 2021. About 141 ANEFO members attended the virtual Zoom meeting. First Vice-President Bartolini greeted the members and discussed various updates about the upcoming Fall II Football Season. Next, Tim Hooton, Commissioner of the Middlesex League, discussed the importance of make sure that during a free kick all members kicking team, except the kicker, are between the 35 and 40 yard lines. If you cannot prevent the kicking team members from straggling or touching the 35 yard line, after the ready, kill the play and call the dead ball foul, and access the five-yard penalty for encroachment. Next, Secretary-Treasurer Bob Prestera discussed a play during which his crew, rightful so, waived a roughing the kicker flag because the kicker was less than ten yards behind the center at the snap; thus, he had no protection.
Tom Brow, Rules Interpreter, was the guest speaker. He presented a visual presentation that included information about post-scrimmage kick fouls, touchbacks, free kicks, and pop-up kicks, along with five videos that illustrated the kicking game from local high school games mostly derived from Hudl.
