Receivers Stepping Out of Bounds – September 17, 2018

September 19, 2018 //  by Tommy Brow

There was a meeting of the ANEFO on Monday, September 17, 2018. First, Skip Likins, ANEFO President, addressed the officials. Later, Tom Brow, ANEFO Rules Interpreter, discussed an interesting play that happened a recent Woburn High School vs. Burlington High School football game. This play became part of a “You Make the Call” scenario involving a pass, a violation for a receiver stepping out of bounds, then first touching and catching the ball, and a flag for offensive pass interference.  Later, this week’s FOX college video training clip was presented to the officials.  Finally, Don Werner, Skip Likins, and Bill Lowd shared their views and tips on the referee position.  The handout with the answers to the “You Make the Call” scenario is attached below.
